#2 The canyon with the stalactites<\/h3>\n

The Gorge with the Stalactites is located at a distance of 8 kilometers from Kyparissia near the village of Rahes.It got its name from the stalactite cave at the end of the gorge. The path that leads to the Gorge with the Stalactites starts from the north side of the Archaeological site of Peristeria. It is a magical route between dense vegetation of bushes and towering trees. Along the entire length of the route you will also meet the Arcadian river many times, so it would be good to have wellies with you, as you may have to cross it. The Archaeological Site of Peristeria is located 8 km northeast of the town of Kyparissia. It is one of the most important centers of Proto-Mycenaean culture, and has rightly been characterized as the “Mycenae of the Western Peloponnese”. Excavations that began in 1960 brought to light three vaulted tombs. Inside the tombs were found many golden cups, jewels and important vases, which are dated to the 16th-15th century BC. These finds are exhibited today in the Archaeological Museum of Chora.<\/p>\n
