Holidays in Kyparissia apart from so many other things you can do, means sun and sea.

But which are the best beaches? This question has been tormenting me for years, because on the one hand Kyparissia has too many beaches, on the other hand I like them all! So, with great difficulty I managed to single out seven and make my top 7, which I will share with you.

#1 Ai Lagoudis

Ai Lagoudis is the beach located just below the town of Kyparissia, awarded with a Blue Flag, both for the quality of its waters and coast, as well as for the organization and security services it offers to bathers. Ai Lagoudis is a sandy beach, about 600 meters long, in which some small coves are formed. It has sunbeds and umbrellas and at the top you will find cafes and restaurants that operate all year round. In Ai Lagoudi there is also a lifeguard, toilets and showers as well as a ramp for disabled people to access the sea. Ai Lagoudis gathers quite a few people as it mainly serves the residents of Kyparissia and families with small children, but caution is needed as the waters there deepen sharply. There you will also meet several tourists from the hotel units of the city. The beach of Ai Lagoudi is a very good solution for swimming near the city. To the north, at a distance of 3 kilometers is the large Kartelas beach and to the south at a distance of two kilometers is Giannitsaina, which is paved with sand and pebbles.

#2 Terpsithea

For those who want to enjoy their swim in peace, Terpsithea beach is ideal, consisting of pebbles and sand and located 6 km south of Kyparissia.

#3 Sleigh

The beach is located 5 kilometers north of the town of Kyparissia. It is a long beach of about 800 meters long, paved with fine sand. On the beach you will find some umbrellas and sunbeds in front of the Beach bar, which doubles as a restaurant. The rest of it is not organized, so on the busy days of August it’s a good idea to bring the necessities (umbrella, etc.) with you.The beach is very popular and gathers a lot of young people mainly from Kyparissia, since it is located a short distance from the city. In Sani, many beach parties are still held during the summer with music and dancing until very late at night.Access to the beach is very easy by car. You will follow the signs on the national road after exiting Kyparissia and you will be driven to a narrow road that passes through a huge olive grove with centuries-old olives.Above the beach and the beach bar there is ample parking.

#4 Sergiani

Six kilometers from Kyparissia, you will find Sergiani beach. A beautiful little beach, only 300 meters long where it is bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea. It is shallow with sand and pebbles on its coast, while it offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy both an organized bath on its sunbeds and to spread out their towel freely and swim in its beautiful waters.

#5 Giannitsaina

Just 2 km south of the town of Kyparissia is the stunning beach of Giannitsaina. It consists of sand and pebbles and has crystal clear waters.

#6 Good Water

The beach is located in front of the settlement of the same name, 6 kilometers north of Kyparissia. It is an endless sandy beach with canteens, beach bars and seaside taverns. Kalo Nero is also famous for its fish taverns that serve fresh fish.

On the beach there is also a beach volleyball court, which hosts summer championships. You can also fish, surf and explore its beautiful seabed with a mask.

The beach, like the entire Kyparissia gulf, is the second most important sea turtle nesting area in the Mediterranean after Zakynthos and is a protected area. Every year, due to its warm sand, sea turtles choose it to dig their nests and lay their eggs. Bathers should be very careful not to destroy their nests. There is also an information center for Caretta-Caretta in which educational programs for children are organized, with painting and other activities.

7# Kartelas

The beach is only 3 kilometers from the town. It is a wide sandy beach one kilometer long. It is one of the most popular beaches in the area as the beach bar and beach volleyball court attract the youth. The beach is mildly organized with sunbeds and straw umbrellas. It is ideal and preferred by families as its waters deepen smoothly. A strong wind often blows there, which the locals call Kartela, hence the name of the specific beach that is exposed to the Ionian Sea. If you stay at the beach until late in the afternoon, you will also enjoy the wonderful sunset that disappears into the sea. Access to the beach is very easy by car. You will get there by following the signs from Kyparissia. There are no other shops, cafes or restaurants on the beach, but the beach is also very close to the settlement of Kalos Nero, which is famous among other things for its fish taverns.
